Bastard Negre de les Terrasses del Serral

Bastard Negre from Les Terrasses del Serral is one of the three wines that gave rise to Pepe Raventós' personal and artisanal project, made outside the family business in the garage of Mas del Serral. It comes 100% from the Terrasses del Serral plot, to the west of the estate, with vines over 40 years old planted in 1974 in goblet on very poor limestone soils. It is the ancestral variety Bastard Negre, synonymous with Morastell or Graciano, which Pepe works under ecological and biodynamic principles with manual harvest and minimal intervention. The grape ferments spontaneously with its own yeasts in open French oak barrels, without any type of oenological additive. The result is a humid, balsamic and spicy red, with notes of autumn and undergrowth on a background of black fruit, with a pleasant entry, elegant and fresh passage and medium tannicity.
